Malmesbury Town Team - Supporting Local Businesses and Visitors
Malmesbury Town Team is a membership group dedicated to supporting local businesses and visitors. We focus on promoting local independent retail and hospitality and the service sector, as well as providing signposting information and hosting events. Our mission is to create a thriving business hub that benefits both the local community and visitors to Malmesbury.
Meet the Team
David Drake, Chair
David is an arts and media professional with extensive experience in event production, and organising festivals and exhibitions around the world. He joined the Town Team Management Group in 2021. Passionate about developing the local arts and cultural scene, he is co-Director of Caerbladon gallery and art supplies shop on the High Street. He is a Director of the Malmesbury Town Team CiC
Lesley Crawford-Price
Lesley has been part of the Town Team Management Team since 2015. She is a marketing professional and has had a key role in developing the Discover Malmesbury brand and its associated sub brands. Lesley is also a Malmesbury Town Councillor.
Kara Brewerton
Kara is Manager at Malmesbury Oxfam, located on the High Street. With great retail and operational experience she joined the Malmesbury Town Team Management Team in 2022.
Kalya James
Kalya is the owner of the Roost restaurant on Oxford Street and Jackdaws coffee house in the Town Hall. He joined the Town Team in 2023.
Jon and Sarah Taylor
Jon and Sarah run Toy and Game Expert on Market Cross and its associated online company. They have led the establishment of a new retail networking platform and are passionate about increasing footfall and business sustainability in Malmesbury. They joined the Town Team in 2024.
Campbell Ritchie
Campbell joined the Town Team Management Team in 2017 and was Chair between 2020 and 2024. Campbell's professional career was in HR management and more recently he built, grown and sold a leading HR business providing HR services to over 300 organisations, including retailers, charities and service businesses. He is a Malmesbury Town Councillor and a Trustee of Malmesbury Civic Trust.
Gavin Grant
Vice Chair
Gavin has been a member of the Malmesbury Town Team Management Team since 2015 and is a Director of Malmesbury Town Team CiC. Before retiring Gavin was Chief Executive of the RSPCA. His earlier professional career was in communications. He is the Wiltshire Councillor for Malmesbury, a Malmesbury Town Councillor, Chair of HEALS, a Malmesbury based charity and a Trustee of the Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum.
Rob Snedden
Rob is an experienced accountant working with a range of businesses. He joined the Town Team in 2018. He undertakes the bookkeeping and financial reporting for the Town Team and the statutory accounting for the CiC. He is a Director of Malmesbury Town Team CiC
Karen Drake
Karen joined the Town Team Management Team in 2021. She has a strong background in charity management and tech business incubation,and has a passion for developing the local arts and cultural scene. She is is co-Director of Caerbladon gallery and art supplies shop on the High Street, and a Malmesbury Town Councillor.
John Sunderland
A senior ex-submariner, John is a professional project manager and senior level business advisor. He joined the Town Team Management Team in 2015 and also represents Malmesbury Abbey on the Town Team.
Ash Scott
Ash has been farming for nearly 30 years and worked part-time in the Old Bake House for 10 years before taking over the family farm. He brings to the team his knowledge of the rural economy and its importance to the town.
